About me

I joined the Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment in February, 2019 as a PhD student in SPHERE. My research focuses on the role of multilateral development banks in shaping the emergence of “global environmental governance.” In other words, I want to know how organizations like the World Bank— which (among their key activities) provide loans, technical expertise, and administrative assistance for large-scale infrastructure projects in developing countries—have helped to lay the groundwork for and propagate a framework of environmental governance that is tightly linked to the enterprise of economic development. My work lies at the crossroads of Environmental History, Global History, Development Studies, and Science and Technology Studies.

I hold a B.A. in Philosophy from Cornell University and an M.A. in Science and Technology Studies from Maastricht University. In 2014, I was a visiting student at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society at the University of Oxford.

I'm the chair of the PhD Chapter (Doktorandsektionen vid THS) for academic year 2020/2021. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns related to doctoral student life!
