About me

Motivated by the growing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events and cyberattacks, Xavier is investigating how to improve resilience in the electrical grid by leveraging new flexibility resources in the grid. His work so far has included forecasting of outages, reinforcement learning for intelligent grid operation, and optimization of Distributed Energy Resourcess (DERs) in the Nordic markets.

Xavier received his MSci in Physics and Computer Science at the University of Glasgow. He currently works as a PhD student in the Electric Power and Energy Systems (EPE) division. He is supervised by professors Lars Nordstrom and Patrik Hilber.

Xavier is part of the Resilience PhD project, funded by Energimyndigheten, together with his industrial collaborators at Vattenfall Eldistribution and Plexigrid.
