Xiongfei Wang received the Bachelor degree from Yanshan University, China, in 2006, the Master degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2008, both in electrical engineering, and the PhD degree in energy technology from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2013.
Since 2009 he has been with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, where he became an Assistant Professor in 2014, an Associate Professor in 2016, a Full Professor and Research Program Leader on Electronic Power Grid (eGrid) in 2018. He has been a part-time Full Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, from 2020.
His research interests include analytical modeling and control of grid-interactive converters, stability and power quality of power-electronic-based power systems, harmonic analysis and mitigation, and applications of wide bandgap power semiconductor devices.
He serves as a Member-at-Large for IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Administrative Committee (2020-2022), a Co-Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics (JESTPE). He is also the Vice Leader of Technical Committee on Electronic Power Grid Systems at IEEE PELS.
In 2016, he was selected into Aalborg University Strategic Talent Management Program, which aims at developing next-generation research leaders for Aalborg University. He has received 6 Prize Paper Awards in the IEEE Transactions and Conferences, the 2016 Outstanding Reviewer Award for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, the 2018 IEEE PELS Richard M. Bass Outstanding Young Power Electronics Engineer Award, the 2019 IEEE PELS Sustainable Energy Systems Technical Achievement Award, the 2020 IEEE Power & Energy Society Prize Paper Award, and the Highly Cited Researcher in the Web of Science in 2019-2020.
