Om mig
Zheheng / Johan is a PhD student in photonics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with a background in semiconductor engineering, nanofabrication, and optical simulation. He works with Prof. Ilya Sychugov and Prof. Lars Berglund on light–matter interaction, transparent and waveguiding photonic devices, and diffractive optical elements.
His work combines numerical electromagnetic simulation, optical system design, and algorithm-driven optimization using tools and methods such as COMSOL, Zemax, Monte Carlo simulation, and Bayesian optimization. He is particularly interested in metagratings, waveguide coupling, and light-management and harvesting structures.
Experimentally, he investigates the luminescent properties of metal clusters and quantum dots (QDs) using micro-photoluminescence (micro-PL), time-resolved streak camera measurements, and advanced optical microscopy.
