This course combines ultrasound physics and instrumentation with its medical applications.
The course deals with basic physical principles, instrumental arrangements, visualisation techniques, safety regulations and biomedical applications of ultrasound. In addition, clinical diagnostics and therapy and preclinical translational studies with ultrasound are also discussed in the course.
The course is jointly offered by Division for BioMedical imaging, KTH-Flemingsberg (coordinator Dmitry Grishenkov), the Dept. of Applied Physics, KTH-Albanova (coordinator Martin Viklund) and with the guest lectures from Karolinska Institute and Karolinska University hospital.
If you are interested in both the physics, principles and instrumentation of ultrasound, and its various medical applications used for research and at clinics, this is the course for you.
