Locality and load-balancing in in-memmory key-value stores

The project consist in installing the RedHat Inifinispan in-memory key-value store and change its default benchmark (or maybe port some other benchmark to it) such that it is possible to experiment with different patterns of access locality and unbalance data access (the current standard benchmark has no locality features). The students will also develop some simple sensors that would collect metrics such as load, number of accesses, etc that would be sent to a central node to feed data placement and load balancing features(not necessarily to be implemented in this project). Some simple bug would be injected in that central component and the students should develop some logging technique that would help in the task of reproducing the bug.
