Welcome to Wireless Infrastructure Deployment & Economics

The towering cost of deploying wireless & mobile broadband access has put the spotlight on analyzing not only the technical performance of theses systems, but also the revenues and costs. This will be the main focus of this course.

In the course we will analyze telecom markets in terms of market segments, describe the key characteristics of a Mobile Network Operator, dimension and make a high-level design of a wireless network given demand, spectrum, cost and performance figures as well as model and analyze the cost structure of the infrastructure of a mobile network operator. Finally, new ways to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy new systems for mobile broadband access will be explored.
