In part 2 of the hand-in assignment it is not clear which force is to be applied when insertion has stopped put removal has not yet begun. The tissue has a holding force which will act to repell the needle, correct? So what would this holding force be?
The idea is that when the needle is moving into the tissue one force profile is to be followed. When the motion switches direction and starts to move out again the second profile should apply. In our case it is not critical what happens in between (in the real case they try to mimic the needle colliding with bone structure in the far end).
(The tissue resists motion but should in principle no be able to drive a load in itself)
