NAVET welcomes you to NAVET WEEK 2022, a week of activities, open for everyone (free admission), including live performances, interactive installations, presentations and workshops distributed between KTH, KMH Royal College of Music, SKH Stockholm University of the Arts, Konstfack and Scenkonstmuseet – The Swedish Museum of Performing Arts.

Welcome to an open workshop around the topic "music for all".
10:00 Welcome, we introduce the , chaired by Kjetil Falkenberg (KTH).

10:10 Maria Svahn presents her work on an accessible musical instrument for persones with cognitive disability, which also resulted in initiating the company  " Funki ". Funki is currently part of KTH's incubator programme and was awarded SIQ's "Quality Innovation Award 2022".

10:25 Karolina Shi presents her work on sound event representation to deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors to museums. The study was performed in collaboration with Tekniska Museet and Tsukuba University in Japan.

11:00 Students from KTH present the B-bender virtual guitar in augmented and mixed reality. The project is done in collaboration with Guitars - The Museum  in Umeå.

After the presentations, Maria and the VR guitar group lead a hands-on session where the participants can try the Funki instruments and the B-bender.

Following this, we invite participants to discuss the several perspectives of music for all, from composition, production, musicking, listening to distribution.

Composer and PhD candidate Claudio Panariello introduces to the new sound, haptics, and light design for the Sound Forest Installation, and A Mic in the Dark, a new temporary installation running during the NAVET WEEK 2022 only.

Sound and Light Installations

During the NAVET WEEK there are two light installations at the KTH Campus Valhallavägen which were presented during the Nobel Week Lights , two installations at Swedish Museum of Performing Arts ( Scenkonstmuseet ) and one installation in Flemingberg :
