NAVET Week 2022 - December 12-16

NAVET welcomes you to NAVET Week 2022, a week of activities, open for everyone, beginning at KTH and ending at Konstfack and touring all of NAVET's partners in between. There will be lectures, project presentations, demonstrations, installations, performances, workshops, and tours.

Below you can find the preliminary programme, under update.

Monday 12/12: KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH will start the week with presentations from researchers of the NAVET center, including presentations by Leif Handberg (KTH Reactor Hall) and of NAVET newly appointed Thematic Working Groups, as well as a presentation of another center, the KTH Climate Change Center, and the newly started collaboration with NAVET. The day will be concluded by a live performance and mingle.

KMH Royal College of Music  will offer presentation from a wide range of research projects by PhD students and faculty, including a session dedicate to "Sound and Light Interaction", a dance performance and screening of two newyly produced audio-visual representations.

Wednesday 14/12: Swedish Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet) & SKH Stockholm University of the Arts

Swedish Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet) and SKH Stockholm University of the Arts invite you to a day filled with workshops, presentations and interactive installations.

9.30-12.00 Swedish Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet) - Open workshop around the topic "music for all"

Welcome to an open workshop around the topic "music for all" that starts with a master thesis presentation at 9:30. Maria Svahn presents her work on an accessible musical instrument for persones with cognitive disability, which also resulted in initiating the company " Funki ". Funki is currently part of KTH's incubator programme and was awarded SIQ's "Quality Innovation Award 2022". After the presentation, Maria leads a hands-on session where the participants can try the Funki instruments.

In the second part of the workshop, we introduce the NAVET "Music for all" thematic working group, chaired by Kjetil Falkenberg (KTH). Here, we invite participants to discuss the several perspectives of music for all, from composition, production, musicking, listening to distribution.

Composer and PhD candidate Claudio Panariello introduces to the new sound, haptics, and light design for the Sound Forest Installation, and A Mic in the Dark, a new temporary installation running during the NAVET WEEK 2022 only.
