Bios of Speaker
Ying Jiang-Häfner received her Ph. D. Degree in electrical engineering from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) of Sweden in 1998. Dr. Jiang-Häfner joined ABB Power System in Sweden since 1998. She started working in the Department of System Development,
Dr. Jiang-Häfner had been involved in the development, design and commission of the world first VSC HVDC – Gotland HVDC Light project, as well as many other projects in former ABB, today Hitachi. She holds the position of R&D Corporate Executive Engineer and senior Principal Engineer today. As author or co-author, she has published more than 50 papers and holds more than 30 patents related to VSC HVDC.
She is the receiver of “IEEE PES UNO LAMM HIGH VOLTAGE DIRECT CURRENT AWARD” in 2025.
