Exhibition: The Urbanism and Landscape Studio (KTH School of Architecture)
The Urbanism and Landscape Studio focuses on cities, landscapes and territories in the broader context of the environmental crisis. The exhibition was on display in the library entrance hall, 16 December – 17 January 2022/2023.

How can we imagine a sustainable and resilient twenty-first century city? What can designers’ role be in addressing Agenda 2030 – including urgent and interconnected problems such as rapid urbanization, biodiversity loss, social inequity and severe global climate changes affecting our cities?
This exhibition showcased analytical studies and projections by 23 students from the Urbanism and Landscape Studio at the KTH School of Architecture.
In the fall of 2022, the studio investigated if and how the Green Wedges of Stockholm could be a catalyst for new resilient urban environments. We specifically zoomed in on the Järva area, a site that exemplifies a contested planning situation, in which the seemingly incompatible endeavors of, on the one hand, protecting and maintaining green and open spaces, and on the other creating a polycentric, dense and more connected urban fabric, are set in opposition to one another. The studio aims at challenging this polemic praxis through the exploration of alternative city/nature relationships.
