This year we put the spotlight on Circular Economy (CE) and how CE can contribute to the sustainability goals. The transformation process involves many scientific challenges, organisational challenges and the need for change in education. The KTH Transformation Day 2023 gathers KTH researchers related to CE and industry partners. Key issues relate to identifying needs for change, the need for new knowledge and research, as well as need for education.

  • KTH Industrial Transformation Platform Directors Monica Bellgran, Kerstin Forsberg, and Martin Edin Grimheden

9:05 – 10:20 Session 1: A Systematic View of Circular Economy

We start off the day with a systematic perspective on Circular Economy. Circulating resources, aiming to zero waste and pollution, as well as regenerating nature for a thriving biodiversity are primary objectives of circular economy (CE). These ambitious objectives demand for a systemic approach, which is one of the underlining characteristics of circular economy. This session will explore the systemic approach in connection with CE implementation, especially focusing on the manufacturing industry.
