SMHI, the Strategic Research Areas MERGE and BECC, and the Bolin Centre for Climate Research invite you to the 2nd Swedish Climate Symposium on 15–17 May, 2024, in Norrköping, Sweden.

The 2nd Swedish Climate Symposium is a unique opportunity for scholars to collectively reflect on and share contributions to climate science. It brings together scholars to identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for strengthened collaboration, and for further deepening the understanding of climate change; its physical basis, its impacts on nature and society, and the sustainable development and governance needed to mitigate and adapt to climate change. A wide spectrum of climate questions will be discussed, within and across disciplines. For Swedish and international participants, the conference will provide an excellent overview of Swedish climate research and its quality.

The symposium will commence with a plenary session with high level science presentations on fundamental science, societal needs and responses. Following the opening session, the program will be arranged in parallel sessions that cover a spectrum of climate topics. KTH Climate Action Centre is responsible for two of these sessions. Scheduled poster and mingle sessions will be organised, fostering opportunities for scientists to interact, collaborate and forge new contacts. The organisers also work towards sessions to facilitate interaction with decision makers from the political and economic sphere in a Swedish context.

Call for abstracts open until 18/01/2024! More detailed information on the symposium and where to submit abstracts can be found here: swedishclimatesymposium.com/
