Welcome to a walking concert with KTH Academic Orchestra.
In the past, a promenade concert was synonymous with an outdoor concert, preferably in a park if there was access to a good music pavilion.

The promenade concerts were often quite long and consisted of several sections with breaks in between. The audience could come and go as they wished, hence the name promenade concert.
The repertoire would be varied. Preferably excerpts from the classical repertoire and always include an overture, solo pieces, waltzes and marches.

The aim was to create a nice mix where there was something for most people regardless of their tastes.
Our promenade concert contains all these elements. We have also managed to engage Sandra Bendrik, who sang with Akademiska Kapellet for the first time at Operadax 2022, and she will sing both operetta and musical.

With the Last Night of the Proms as a model, it has now become mandatory to also include a singing element. Also at our concert, you will be able to sing along with Pomp and Circumstance, but with a completely new text by Kimmo Eriksson, where we pay tribute to the composer of the march Edward Elgar.

We wish you a pleasant afternoon.
