World Academic Forum - Stockholm Summit 2022
17-21 May 2022
Stockholm’s united academia will come together to manifest the importance of academia’s role in society in May 2022. During four days, a wide range of events with an interdisciplinary focus are brought together in a joint program with both on-site and online events.
Current research issues will be addressed in new and creative ways. Academics and artists from all corners of the globe will gather in interesting constellations to discuss solutions for the global challenges of our time and future.
The summit’s 2022 theme is: a Post Pandemic Planet.
The World Academic Forum Stockholm Summit is initiated and hosted by Stockholms Akademiska Forum – 18 universities together with the City of Stockholm.
Partnership necessary to achieve sustainability goals
KTH Royal Institute of Technology is a host and co-host of four events. One of them

is organised by University Alliance Stockholm Trio (Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University)and highlights the value of partnerships to find new ways of working. Stockholm university has written an

that explains this session in more detail and includes input from Per Lundqvist, professor in energy technology and vice president for sustainability at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Per emphasizes that competence from many different areas is needed to produce good solutions to sustainability challenges.
- However, universities need to be better equipped to work across disciplinary boundaries and subject areas and, through innovative collaboration, interact with various actors to find sustainable solutions to complex societal challenges. In this area, we really complement each other!
