USA: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

University of Illinois, ranked among the top 50 universities in the world, is one of KTH’s strategic partnerships with a vast array of collaborations ranging from summer courses, joint and online programs, and research. UI is located in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana in east-central Illinois. It is approximately a 2.5 hour drive south of Chicago (140 miles). The university comprises of 17 colleges that are spread out between the two cities including a large number of research facilities connected to industry. There is a main street that students refer to as Campus Town that gives a true Big Ten University college feeling.

Note: Mandatory orientation one week prior to term start. College of Business and Department of Computer Sciences are not available for exchange students. KTH has an exchange with both the College of Engineering and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences which has many relevant courses and programs. Students must purchase UIUC's insurance plan. The amount is approximately 1100-1600 USD (subject to change). For the latest information about insurance and fees, visit the university website.
