Software development speeds up at Hillert Modeling Laboratory with three new high end servers. Everyone affiliated to the department has the possibility to register and apply for access to ”Leto”, ”Metis” or ”Maia”.

Last year, Hillert Modeling Laboratory received funding for large computer facilities and purchased three high end servers. ”Leto”, ”Metis” and ”Maia” are now operational.

The servers are primarily intended for the development of scientific computer programs to be used on national resources, such as Parallelldatorcentrum, by students and researchers at the department, and by external academic and industrial partners.

”With the new servers we can significantly speed up our software development and boost our modeling-related teaching activities,” says Levente Vitos, the lab’s director.
