What is KCSC?

The KTH Center for Scientific Computing (KCSC) is a cross-disciplinary research center that develops cutting edge scientific software and computational methods for natural sciences and engineering. We combine domain research groups, research software engineers, and HPC experts to create sustainable, high-impact software that enables breakthroughs across disciplines.

KCSC's mission is to develop innovative mathematical, computational, and software methods that empower researchers to solve scientific challenges beyond today’s limits. KCSC brings together expertise in algorithms, parallel programming, supercomputing architectures, and domain sciences to deliver high-impact and future-proof scientific software.

The KTH leadership wishes KCSC to be an open and welcoming environment for students, teachers, researchers, and technical staff engaged in the development of new and innovative mathematical and computational methods that enable impactful applications in science and engineering.

The center builds on KTH’s strong position in scientific software and aims to create real impact through research publications, widely used tools and infrastructure, and external funding.
