About me

Ph.D. Student specializing in quantum materials. Modeling, fabrication and characterization of topological insulator materials; a new type of materials which are electrically insulating in their bulk but conducting on the surface.
These conducting surface states are topologically protected, which makes them extremely robust and insensitive to non-magnetic impurities in the material. Another interesting and unusual property is the spin-momentum locking of these states, meaning that counter-propagating electrons will be spin polarized. This property is of great interest in spintronics applications and potentially also in quantum computing.

Did Master's thesis on Radio Frequency Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (RF STM). Interested in quantum computation, quantum information, quantum cryptography and spintronics. Did Bachelor's thesis on Josephson junctions.
