Diego Mas Ivars

Adjunct Professor at the Division of Soil and Rock Mechanics (KTH), and Rock Mechanics Research Coordinator at the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company (SKB).  At SKB I am responsible for rock mechanics issues, research and development associated with the construction and analysis of long-term safety of the planned repositories for both long- and short-lived radioactive waste.

My research focus is on:

Coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical behaviour of jointed rock mass.

Coupled hydro-mechanical behaviour of fractures.

Continuum/Discontinuum numerical modelling.

In situ stress field characterization.
