About me

Seren Dincel is a doctoral candidate in Architectural Design, Technology, and Representation at the KTH School of Architecture. She holds master’s degrees in Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar and in Interior Architecture and Spatial Design from Sapienza University of Rome, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul. Alongside her academic work, she has professional experience in architectural and urban lighting design, including work at AFRY Architects, Zumtobel, Sweco and JVL Studio on projects in Sweden and internationally.

Her doctoral project is situated within the transdisciplinary research consortium NorDark, investigating Unconventional methods to inform sustainable design: Mediating the needs of people and nature in Nordic after-dark environments, funded by NordForsk and Swedish Energy Agency. Between 2022 and 2025, she contributed to research activities in WP2: Chronobiology at Stockholm University and WP4: Lighting Design at KTH. In 2026, her doctoral project is supported by a dedicated grant from Bertil och Britt Svenssons Stiftelse för Belysningsteknik.
