About me

Gunno Renman is Professor Emeritus (from 2019) in land and water engineering with a focus on eco-engineering. The research focuses on water treatment technology, especially small-scale sewage treatment, leachate treatment, traffic stormwater and remediation of polluted lake and sea sediments. Purification takes place through water filtration with reactive filter materials in combination with sedimentation in ponds or wetlands. Minerogenic granulated materials are developed in collaboration with industry. These materials must have a high ability to bind phosphorus, metals or organic environmental toxins. Phosphorus-saturated materials are returned to agriculture or industry within the framework of a circular economy. Research on phosphorus recovery from lake and sea sediments is also being developed with a focus on technology to pick up valuable metals using low-flow suction dredging.
