About me
Ioannis Ioannidis is a Postdoctoral Student at the Department of Urban Planning and Environment, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He is a member of the Urban & Community Safety Research Group (https://www.kth.se/en/som/avdelningar/urbana-studier/forskning/urban-community-sa), the Safeplaces network (https://www.sakraplatser.abe.kth.se/sv/sakraplatser/), and the KTH Food Center (https://www.kth.se/kthfood/kth-food-1.1221796). Throughout his PhD and now his postdoctoral studies, his research has centered on enhancing the quality of life in urban environments. Recently, he has begun his postdoctoral work on food deserts, investigating how variations in food accessibility impact urban livability. Leveraging advanced GIS and spatial statistical methods, his research employs innovative data collection techniques—including remote sensing, database management, image analysis, and automation using Model Builder and Python—to generate actionable insights for urban planning and policy.
