ABOUT:
Joydeep Dutta, Professor of Functional Materials at KTH, specializes in developing nanomaterials for energy, environmental remediation, and food safety. With over 30 years in academia and industry across Japan, France, Switzerland (EPFL), Thailand (AIT Vice President), and Oman (Chair in Nanotechnology), his work bridges fundamental science and practical innovation. At KTH, he pioneers sustainable energy and environmental solutions through advanced materials research addressing real-world challenges.
CONTRIBUTION TO SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING:
He has authored 3 textbooks, edited 2 books, contributed 14 chapters, holds 10 patents, and published 300+ papers (23,750+ citations, h-index 77). He has delivered 100+ invited lectures and serves on editorial boards of several international journals.
ACHEIVMENTS:
Prof. Dutta, an award-winning author of “Introduction to Nanotechnology,” has research ranked in Sweden’s Top 100 list of the Swedish Academy of Engineering (2020, 2023, 2024) and is among KTH’s top 25 researchers. He has supervised 20+ postdocs, 18 PhDs, 100+ master’s students, and founded four companies, one now commercially active.
