Gabriela Kiryluk

I'm a masters student in Interactive Media Technology at MID Department and amanuens at NAVET.

My research interest lays at the intersection of interactive art systems, soma design, slow technology and experience design. As an active member at MIDDLA Makerspace, I develop my own practice in interactive art byworking with digital fabrication, biomaterials, electronics and interface design.

Some of my previous work includes movement based installation interactive movement-based installation Loops for Stagnation which encourages people to move together in order to control/influence the Loop system (abstract representation of the non-human world). Through series of workshops, I looked at how people come to understand and make sense of the projection through movement.

More recently, in my internship at Digital Futures,I had worked with wearable inflatables design alongside post-doc Alice Haynes. During this time, I designed inflatable vests and other wearable forms (spirals, rings) and researched the material properties of these different fabrics, exploring different sensations they create on the body when inflated.

My Master Thesis Conductive Photography proposes the practice of photography augmentation with conductive materials, transforming printed photographs with sounds. As a slow technology project, i looked at how this practice may support reminiscence and remembering.

At NAVET, I work as a Communications Officer - I plan content, create it and monitor the social channels. I also design the visual identity and graphics promoting Navet activities.
