About me
Louise Bartek is a postdoctoral researcher within the PLENTY Centre (Work Package WP2), with a research focus on resilient and resource-efficient food systems. She specializes in life cycle assessment (LCA) within food systems and holds a PhD from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Her research aims to identify how side streams and surplus resources can be used more efficiently to reduce environmental impacts and contribute to more sustainable food systems.
She has worked on projects related to reducing food waste and losses of bread and bakery products, assessing the environmental potential of valorising side streams from, for example, broccoli and starch production, as well as developing and evaluating sustainable fish and chicken feed systems. Her research is often carried out in close collaboration with companies and other stakeholders within the food sector, with a focus on solutions that can contribute to real-world sustainability transitions.
