About me

My name is Lucy (she/her), and I am a PhD Student in Technology and Health at the Division of Health Informatics and Logistics. My PhD research examines the socio-technical dimensions of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and eldercare. It encompasses participatory design methodologies, technical system development, and the exploration of policy and governance frameworks shaping AI-enabled care platforms. With my research I hope to question dominant narratives of techno-solutionism in care, and to foreground alternative, care-centered technological futures.

I earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Dublin City University in 2015 and a M.Sc. in Machine Learning from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2023. Oustide of academia, I have also worked as a Data Scientist and Business Intelligence consultant.

Teaching & Supervision:

I am a teacher on CM2008 Entrepreneurship in Technology and Health, and CM2010 Sociocultural Perspectives to Innovative Technologies, where I teach AI and Machine Learning Ethics, and STS theories. I am a guest lecturer on AK2011 Technology and Ethics.

I have supervised the following masters theses:

Xin Tang - M.Sc. in Machine Learning (2026, KTH)

Charlotte Santhagens - M.Sc. in Innovative Technology for Healthy Living (2026, KTH)
