In February 2019 I finished my PhD at KTH, dealing primarily with studies of plasma-material interaction. Using ion beam methods I analyzed wall elements and deposition probes from fusion experiments such as JET and TEXTOR. The goal of this research was to characterize the processes that lead to erosion of plasma facing components in fusion devices and the subsequent deposition of the eroded material in different regions of the machine. Other work included detector design for ion beam analysis, erosion and surface modification of low-activation steel, plasma spectroscopy and the development of a technique for electric field measurement called electric field induced line emission (EFILE).
