Om mig

Ruoli received her Beng in Mechanical Engineering from Southeast University in 2004, her MSc and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from Royal Institute of Technology in 2007 and 2012, respectively. Overall, her doctoral studies focused on quantifying biomechanical consequences of gait impairment and deformity of the foot and ankle due to various musculoskeletal disorders or symptomatology. Her postdoctoral research with Paediatric Neurology group in Karolinska Institutet and Computational Biology group from KTH centred around the quantification of spasticity and secondary muscle structure, and property changes following spasticity. At her current post at KTH Engineering Sciences, Mechanics, her focus is to develop methodologies for estimating personalized musculotendon parameters non-invasively using a combination of medical imaging, musculoskeletal modelling, and optimization. She is a member of the research group at the KTH MoveAbility Lab, and is the member of executive board of the KTH BioMEx Center.

Reserach Interests

  • In vivo measurement of muscle morphology, composition and mechanical properties using medical imaging techniques

  • Decoding relationship between neural characteristics and movement

  • Real-time musculotendon parameter estimation for rehabilitation training
