My experience with composite materials started during my master’s thesis, where I investigated aluminum metal matrix composites, focusing on their thermophysical properties and the optimization of squeeze-casting simulations. Currently, my research targets cemented carbides with steel-based binders, with particular emphasis on predicting metastable binder structures at room temperature using thermodynamics-based calculations. By integrating advanced characterization methods, my work aims to optimize and validate thermodynamics-based property models in steels for application in cemented carbides with steel-based binders.
