About me

Sasan is a research scientist, Docent, and teacher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. His research is focused on aerosol technology, indoor air quality, HVAC, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics - CFD, infection control engineering, virtual surgery, biofluids, and energy in buildings.

Sasan received a PhD in Applied Fluid Mechanics in 2016 from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He graduated in 2012 from Linköping University with a Master of Science in Applied Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.

Sasan did his first postdoctoral fellowship at the Danish Building Research Institute (SBi), Aalborg University - Copenhagen. He completed his second postdoctoral fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California – Berkeley.

In 2018, Sasan was promoted to Docent (Associate Professor). In addition to his role at KTH, he also holds a Full Professorship position at MDU since 2022.

Sasan's research focuses on various topics, including multi-phase flow, non-Newtonian fluids, heat and mass transfer, real-time simulation and visualization, fluid-structure interaction, fluid-particle dynamics, as well as the physics and chemistry of indoor air pollution. He uses various numerical methods in his work and is particularly interested in developing sustainable solutions for environmental problems.
