About me
Malin Zimm is an architect PhD, writer and architecture researcher and critic. Zimm was editor-in-chief of the architecture magazine Arkitektur 2019-2022. Zimm studied architecture at KTH, Stockholm and UCL, London, and holds a PhD in Architecture. Her dissertation was presented in the field of Critical Theory at KTH School of Architecture 2005, with the title "Losing the Plot - Architecture and Narrativity in Fin-de-Siècle Media Cultures”, which discusses the concept of non-digital virtual space in late 19th Century literature and in the history of early film. Zimm has been a free-lance writer and architecture critic since 2000, while working as Chief Editor of the architecture magazine Rum, Senior Adviser in Architecture at ArkDes, followed by the role of Research Director and Analyst at White Arkitekter. Together with Mattias Bäcklin she is running the mobile art- and architecture gallery Zimm Hall since 2015.
