Prior to course
Welcome to Audio Technology!
This course is given by the Sound and Music Computing Group at the Department of Speech, Music and Hearing. Course co-ordinator and main lecturer: Professor Sten Ternström. All relevant information is available here and in the course guide. We will have four guest lecturers during the course. Please check this page every now and then for up-to-date information on the course.
The first lecture of the course will take place on Tuesday, 5 November 2013 at 13-15, in the room Fantum. This lecture and most of the following sessions will be given in the lecture room Fantum of the TMH department. The address is Lindstedtsvägen 24, level 5. The course book Ken C Pohlmann: Principles of Digital Audio, sixth edition, is available by mail order, and it is affordable; see the Literature section. There will also be numerous handouts.
It is important to attend the first lecture, because you will need quickly to form groups for the course assignment and to sign up for the laboratory sessions. Also, it is important for us to know exactly who will be attending the course. If you cannot attend on this first occasion, please let me know in advance, so that I can plan for you anyway. If you would like to attend this course, but have not yet registered for it, please come anyway.
The first lectures, on spatial audio, will be given by our regular guest lecturer Dr Damian Murphy from the University of York. His lectures have been very popular every year, so you will want not to miss them!
