Examination
The course gives 7.5 credits and it is examined by four home assignments, and a written exam.
The home assignments are voluntary and are to be presented in written reports. Except for assignment 2 (which is solved in groups) individual reports have to be handed in as stated in Table 1. It is not allowed to submit the reports in any other way! Reports submitted in any other way will not be marked. The blue mailbox marked “Electricity Market Analysis” is located on the second floor of the entrance Teknikringen 33. Assistance to the home assignments is given at special occasions (see the schedule). Well performed home assignments can be given in total 15 bonus points, which are valid for the exams in May 2013 and August 2013 respectively.

The Quizes are obligatory and show the knowledge level of student in the discussed topic. There are five quizzes scheduled for part 2 of this course. These quizzes account for 5% of the final grade. This is valid for the exams in May 2013 and August 2013 respectively. ¶
The exam is written and is given twice a year. To attend the exam it is required to register in advance using KTH “My pages”, which can be accessed from the student web site (www.kth.se/student/minasidor). The premises of the exam can be changed depending on the number of examinees. Check the course web page for detailed information before the exam! (The central KTH exam schedule is not always updated in time.)
The exam is divided into two parts. The first part of the exam (max 40 points) decides whether or not the grade will be failed or passed. 1/3 of the bonus points from the home assignments are considered in part I, i.e. maximum 5 points. To pass it is necessary to score at least 34 points out of 40+5100. Examinees who have failed the exam but are close to the requirement for passing (i.e., 31-33 points) may write a supplementary test. If the result of this test is approved, the student will get the grade E. The date of the extra test is decided by the course coordinatoexaminer after consulting the concerned students. However, the student must notify his or her intention to write the supplementary test no later than one month after the exam.
The second part of the exam will only be marked if the student has passed part I. Part II gives a total of 60 points. Then the results of parts I and II and the bonus points will be added together and the sum determines the examination grade (A–E), cf. Table 2.¶ The following aids are allowed at the exams and extra tests:
* Calculator without information relevant to the course.
* One handwritten, single-sided A4-page with your own notes (original, not a copy), which should be handed in together with the exam.
