Exercises

Do I have to solve all exercises?

No - the proposed exercises are just a recommendation. If you have understood and solved those exercises (may be with the help of the solutions given in the book) you should be well prepared for the exam.

Do I have to hand in my solutions?

No - solutions to the exercises can be found in the book. If you have any questions feel free to ask the assistant in one of the exercise sessions.

Do I have to attend the scheduled exercise sessions?

EL1150 is intended to be a self-study course. It is perfectly ok, if you solve the exercises anytime at home or anywhere else. During the scheduled exercise sessions, an assistant will be available to help you with questions.

Book

Do I have to buy the book?

We recommend that you buy the book as the course is based on it. The proposed exercises can be found in the book and the topics required for the exam are defined by the first 60 pages of the book. Anyhow, we are aware that the book is quite expensive. You can find links to alternative compendia on the course homepage.

When will the exam be available?

I have finished the exam and sent in my answers. Can you send me the correct solutions?

No.

I have finished the exam but did not get any points for task X. What is wrong with my solution?

Unfortunately it is very time-consuming to find mistakes in code somebody else has written. Thus we can not correct your solutions. We can offer you a sample input, where your code fails to compute the correct output. Please send your m-file for this task to the teaching assistant.

Is there any re-examination (omtenta)?

There will be e re-examination in January. Contact the lecturer if you need to do the re-examination.
