Litterature
You can access IEEEexplore from the KTH library webpage e-journal section. This is a higly recommended source. The EE library is also available. However, books and journals are not to be removed from the building. You will have access to the lab 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reports from previous years project can be useful. The Internet is an infinite source of information where search tools such as google-scholar are recommended.
Computer and lab equipment
In addition to standard instruments such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, etc, the lab is equipped with PCs running Windows or Ubuntu.
Smartphone groups will have access to HTC desire phones, while SRP groups willl access to USRP2s (www.ettus.com).
Accompanying software for the smartphone groups are the Eclipse integrated programming environment and the android software development kit (SDK). For the USRP projects the gcc compiler is used and emacs may be used as editor. The UHD driver is used as an interface between the USRP and the PC. Skeleton software are provided for both smart-phone and USRP projects.
Lectures with basic information on smart-phone (android) and USRP programming will be given at the start of the project.
Software for documentation
Documentation can be written in any system of your choice. Both Microsoft Word and LaTeX . Word is a traditional WYSIWYG system, while LaTeX is a typesetting system commonly used in academia and is excellent in handling large documents and documents with mathematical formulas.
