Lecture #4: An economic perspective on climate change
Dear Students,
As usual the lecture was a great experience and I would like to thank you all for being engaging with our guest lecturer PhD Candidate Fabian Levihn.
I would like to point out some key points of the presentation:
- What should be the price to reach the goal of reducing GHG emissions?
- Who is going to pay?
- Currently, the value for CERs (Certified Emission Reduction) or carbon credits is no longer a good incentive to corporations.
- Biofuels are considered carbon neutral under the economic perspective. What about other perspectives, how do they perceive biofuels?
- When making a decision about reducing emissions, what are we really substituting them with?
- We cannot solve the problem without a systems perspective.
I would recommend you all to think about these points and, please, feel free to add comments here. We all can benefit from a discussion.
The file containing the presentation is available in Bilda. That's all folks!
Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday morning.
Cheers, Alessandro
