Final week assignment

There is a CSN requirement that each course needs to have an exam or assignment in the final week of the course. This assignment should be required for all students of the course, so it cannot only be an assignment for higher grades or an Fx complementary examination. However, it is OK to have an assignment with a deadline in the final week, but where the students are allowed to hand it in earlier.

If you do not have a mandatory assignment in the final week and your course contains labs, my suggestion is to add a quiz with a deadline in the final week as an additional requirement of the LAB component. This quiz could contain just reflection questions on the labs (or the whole course), asking how the student experienced the labs, and if they could be improved in some way. In the introductory programming courses, this final week quiz also should include the Cerise test.

In this way, the students will have a mandatory assignment in the final week of the course, but the task is very easy to do, and it is impossible to fail. Then the requirement of CSN will be satisfied, and you will at the same time get valuable information from all active students on how to improve the course.
