Lorenzo Mantovani: On the Chow-Witt ring of the moduli stacks of curves of genus one

Abstract 

Chow-Witt groups are a variation of Chow groups of an algebraic variety. They are constructed using linear combinations of cycles with coefficients in quadratic forms rather than just integers. As a result they capture finer arithmetic information than the usual Chow groups.

We will outline a strategy for computing the Chow-Witt ring of the moduli stack of elliptic curves and of it's Deligne-Mumford compactification.
