Goals and strategies in regulation of risk

The project is a pre-study intended to elucidate the function of goals and strategies in the regulation of the nuclear power industry. The main focus of the pre-study is a specific unit of the department of Nuclear Power Plant Safety of the Swedish radiation safety authority (Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten). Of particular interest is how goals can enhance the regulation of risks, how goal conflicts can arise and be avoided and the possibilities of establishing criteria for goal achievement. The methodological approach is by way of interviewing employees at the unit.
