The PMH Application Lab welcomes Ionbond as a new industrial partner in its R&D Cluster
The Powertrain Manufacturing for Heavy Vehicles Application Lab – a Collaboration between KTH, Fraunhofer and RISE (PMH Application Lab) is pleased to announce that Ionbond has recently joined our R&D cluster as new industrial partner.
Ionbond is a world leading vacuum coatings service provider offering hard, wear-resistant, low friction PVD, PACVD and CVD coatings. Ionbond coatings provide outstanding tribological properties and are used in many industrial segments including cutting tools, forming tools as well for automotive, aviation, medical and decorative components.
With 39 service centers in 17 countries in Europe, North America and Asia Ionbond has one of the largest coating service networks in the world. The company has been involved in this market for over 40 years and counts over 1000 employees worldwide.
Ionbond is part of the Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering business unit of the IHI Group. The business unit is active in providing coating services (Ionbond) and heat treatment (IHI VTN) as well as providing equipment; CVD by Ionbond, PVD and PACVD by IHI Hauzer Techno Coating, and heat treatment equipment by IHI Machinery and Furnace Company.

Ionbond will as member of our R&D Cluster participate in this year’s collaborative R&D projects. The results of the collaborative R&D projects will be generated by the research partners in the R&D Cluster and will be shared with all current industrial partners .
