We are delighted that our recent works on hydrovoltaic energy harvesting have been highlighted by Science News " New green technology harvests energy from raindrops and humidity ". Our work “ Metallic Wood through Deep-Cell-Wall Metallization: Synthesis and Applications ” is now published online on ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. Congratulations to the first author Xiaoying Xu, corresponding author Assoc. Prof. Yuanyuan Li, and all the coauthors.

Biocomposites group members joined ACS Spring Conference in New Orleans last week. Prof. Lars Berglund gave a talk with title of "Nanostructural control in load-bearing cellulose materials" in the symposium in honour of his Anselme Payen Award. Assoc. Prof. Yuanyuan Li gave a presentation in the symposium with title of "Rational wood structure design for efficient energy conversion". Assoc. Prof. Yuanyuan Li also gave a talk in the symposium in honour of her KINGFA Young Investigator Award with tiltle of "Sustainable lignocellulosic aerogels through wood cell wall nanostructure manipulation". Dr. Erfan Oliaei also shared his research with title of "A new amorphous and crosslinked polylactide for strong and chemically recyclable wood fiber biocomposites".

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Lengwan Li. He got an associate professor position in Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

Congratulations to our colleague Peter Olsén. As of January 2024, he will start as an Assistant Professor at Linköping University  (LiU) and the Laboratory of Organic Electronics  (LOE). The position is in conjunction with the Wallenberg Wood Science Center . His research will focus on synthetic chemistry from wood-derived substrates towards functional and sustainable materials.
