Course in Circular Economy and Industrial Systems (4,5 hp) is aimed mainly at industry professionals with interest and experience in working with sustainability and circular economy.

During this course you will learn:

  • To formulate and critically discuss circular economy principles and strategies, and the implications of circular transitions for sustainable development in specific sectors, such as resource management, energy and resource-intensive industries.
  • Strategies for closed loop manufacturing , innovation management and value creation, and supply chain management.
  • To apply tools and methods relevant to the assessment of circular performance and select an appropriate assessment tool based on a problem description
  • Explain and exemplify the importance of business model innovation for value creation in a circular economy.

The course is taught in English, distance-based, with some activities at KTH campus, at Valhallavägen in Stockholm.

We host the at the Department of Energy Technology, and the teachers come from different schools across the KTH and bring their unique expertise in innovation in various sectors.
