Brazil confronts hard challenges regarding land-use changes, CO2 emissions, and energy sustainability. One of the most controversial issues is the land utilization for farming and cattle, leading to deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. This type of issue sometimes escalates due to policies and government declarations. The concern is that such changes in the rainforest could lead to environmental problems such as increment the droughts, alters the albedo and heat flux, lost in biodiversity, etc. On the other hand, Brazil has one of the highest insertions of renewable resources accounting for about 46.22%. But the transportation sector heavily relies on oil and derivatives, besides the policies of biofuels to help reducing the high dependency of oil. Moreover, the electricity matrix faces hurdles due to more frequent droughts, impacting hydroelectric power generation. Solutions entail diversifying energy sources, enhancing the integration of wind power and solar energy. Prioritizing sustainable practices and technological innovation can mitigate environmental degradation, boost energy security, and ensure a sustainable energy future in Brazil.
