Research has shown a marked increase of climate anxiety among the general population. Climate change is increasingly affecting human mental health and everyday life functioning. How do we address these challenges? Also, is anxiety a driver for climate mitigation and adaptation behaviors, and if not, what is? Fabian Lenhard is a psychologist and PhD at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet. He is an expert on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and has worked with individuals, groups and organizations to create lasting change based on behavioral principles. In this talk, he will give an update on the current research on psychological aspects of climate change, preconditions for sustainable behavior change and share some ideas on how to integrate behavioral science to leverage interdisciplinary solutions.
