Research environments

The Division of Computational Science and Technology manages three large research environments: the PDC Center for High Performance Computing (PDC), SciLifeLab and the VIC Visualization Studio.

PDC Center for High Performance Computing

The PDC Center for High Performance Computing at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology provides leading HPC services to Swedish academia, as part of the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC), as well as internationally via the PRACE infrastructure. Those services include supercomputing and storage resources plus assistance from a range of application experts. PDC is also involved with various national and international projects and research centers.

SciLifeLab

The Science for Life Laboratory, SciLifeLab, is a national centre for molecular biosciences with a focus on health and environmental research. SciLifeLab is a national resource and a collaboration between the Karolinska Institute, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Uppsala University.

The VIC Studio

The visualization studio at KTH (VIC) is a resource for students and researchers. The studio houses many types of technology to manage and interact with large amounts of data. It also supports the relevant application of such data, through modalities such as haptics, eye tracking, multitouch and various stereoscopic systems.
