Large attendance at the FAV Spring Meeting
On April 20th the Forum for Users of Machine Tools (FAV) had its spring meeting in Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. There were lectures and discussions on current topics, such as digital twins and recycling of consumable materials.
Attendants of this year's FAV (Forum för användare av verktygsmaskiner) were, besides KTH, representantives for Scania, AB Volvo, SAAB, GKN Aerospace, Leax, Sandvik Coromant, and Aurobay (Volvo Cars).
The meeting started with a guided tour in the tool factory at Sandvik Coromants in Gimo. After lunch, talks and thematic discussions took place. Gunnar Lundström talked about recycling / destruction / environmental adaptation of, for example, consumables for machinery equipment. Jonas Järvström, Manager for Global Production Preparation development led the talks about ”Preparation of the Physical Product and the Digital Twin at Sandviks Coromant's Tool production”. Finally, Lars Matiasson, Manager for Global Production Equipment and Engineering, and Peter Andersén, Global Production Engineer, presented vibration measurement connected to the Digital twin of the machine CGTech Vericut.
