SPIDER

SPIDER sounding rocket was launched from Esrange on February 2, 2016.

The scientific objective of the SPIDER project was a study of the Farley-Buneman instability in the auroral electrojet. The rocket carried ten Free Falling Units (FFUs) ejected from a single rocket. Each FFU was equiped with an electric field instrument, Langmuir probes and a fluxgate magnetometer. The rocket was launched from Esrange on February 2, 2016, at 21:09 UT into active aurora.
