Collective Exploration of Amplification Workshop
Tid: To 2026-11-05 kl 18.00 - 20.00
Plats: Lilla Salen (KMH)
In this workshop, we want to invite you to collectively explore amplification as a way of activating materials and listening to their less perceptible qualities. Rather than working towards a specific theme or outcome, we will experiment hands-on with different materials, technologies, and ways of building instruments.
We will explore membranes, strings, fabric, mud, metal, and other materials, alongside speakers, transducers, contact microphones, Bela boards, and other technical approaches. Through these combinations, we want to investigate what happens when amplification becomes a way of expanding the qualities of matter, a way of making the micro audible, of bringing hidden relationships and subtle vibrations into perception.
What can amplification reveal about a material? How does a material change when we listen to it through a different body? Can amplification become a way of reading matter, rather than simply making sound louder?
Bring materials that you are curious about, and together we will experiment with ways of activating, connecting, and listening to them.
Feel free to bring some materials with you.
